Why Ink

Ink is Kraken's L2 on the OP Stack, part of the Optimism Superchain, live since December 2024. Gas is ordinary ETH, blocks are one second, and the median transaction we measured on it cost about four hundredths of a cent. For a 2,000-piece mint that matters: nobody should pay more in gas than the piece is worth.

It also has a door most chains do not. Kraken withdraws ETH straight to Ink at no fee, so a buyer with an exchange account does not have to learn bridging first. And OpenSea supports Ink, so the pieces are tradeable the day the contract lands.

Getting ETH onto Ink

three ways in, cheapest first

From Kraken

Withdraw ETH from a Kraken account and pick the Ink network. Kraken charges no fee for it, and it lands in a minute or two. This is the shortest route and the one to point a first-time buyer at.

Official bridge

Bridge ETH from Ethereum at inkonchain.com/bridge. It is the canonical Superchain bridge; a withdrawal back out carries the usual seven-day challenge period, a deposit in does not.

Third-party bridges

Superbridge and Across both support Ink and are faster out than the canonical route, for a fee. Use them if you plan to move funds back off quickly.

What it costs

0.0002 ETH a piece. Five, the wallet maximum, comes to 0.001 ETH plus gas, and Ink settles a transaction for about four hundredths of a cent.
